"The
Poulsbohemian has a wonderful view of Liberty Bay."
We, the Zach Family of Kingston, are pleased to introduce you to our work. From pottery, painting, and sketching, to papermaking and sculpture, we have always employed the Arts as a creative outlet. Each of us manipulates media in a way that is particular unto the individual, as is surely represented in this show. But just as our works and styles vary, what inspires each of us is just as divergent…
Jamie:
Throughout my life I’ve been doing and making things from painting to pottery. However, the most significant legacy is my children, their character and passion for life and learning are evident each day I’m blessed to spend with them!
Jessica:
Though working on a Psychology major at Western Washington University, Jessica has always made a place for art in her life. Her watercolors and graphite drawings demonstrate her skill and attention to detail in her subject matter.
Sarah:
As a full time art student at Northwest College of Art, Sarah has been expanding her talents in a variety of ways as is evident from her recent works. Oil painting has been a favorite as well as refining her drawing and design work.
Emily:
My works for this show are little different from what I have done in the past. I have chosen to do a vague homage to French Symbolist Odeon Redon, whose sunset colors and dreamscape canvases have always left me speechless. I am currently attending Western Washington University, majoring in Art History and Archaeology.
Hannah:
Though still in high school, Hannah has a wonderful sense of humor and attention to detail in every collage she creates. She enjoys reading and spending time with her goofy golden retriever, Mr. Doug.
We would like to thank the Poulsbohemian Café for displaying the diverse perspectives of our family members: this is truly a rare opportunity. Finally, we would like to thank all of you who are taking the time to look at our collection. As artists, we can only go so far with our art; it is the viewer—you—whose interpretations take our work further than we ever could.
If you are an artist interested in showing your work at the coffeehouse call Marianna at 779-9199 to schedule an interview to see your portfolio.
